Ladda Kosaketh is a seasoned guide in outdoor education. Ms. Kosaketh has served as J.U.M.P.’s youth educator for approximately 4 years and recently began teaching outdoor skills to other educators so they can confidently and safely take youth outdoors. Through Educators Outdoors–part of Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC) Outdoor Leadership Training program– Kosaketh instructs on how to teach outdoor skills to youth. This May, she co-led a 2-night camping training at Ponkapoag Pond in Canton, Mass. Training participants benefit from a chance to learn or refresh skills and gain access to a wealth of AMC resources.

“The experience affirmed my passion for sharing and facilitating outdoor learning experiences,” says Kosaketh. Working with AMC’s highly-regarded training program has also helped Kosaketh hone her teaching skills in ways that will benefit J.U.M.P. youth.

Kosaketh is developing additional outdoor education trainings with AMC, including their first Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) training and a combined training for families, outdoor leaders, and educators.

Kosaketh demonstrates her outdoor living skills by cutting a sapling to make a figure 4 trap
during a workshop on trapping.
