The Compass Rose curriculum is a set of skill modules broken down into topics and organized under the 4 cardinal points of the compass. These skills were developed internally by our outdoor leaders that have decades of experience in hiking, rock climbing, and mountaineering on 3 continents. This curriculum represents what we feel are the minimum set of skills requiring mastery if one is to travel securely and skillfully in a demanding environment.
As you can see, the primary topics of the Compass Rose are:
- North: Finding Your Way
- South: Living Outside
- East: Staying Well
- West: Helping Others
